Avoid Excess Charges At The Airport
When you book a holiday there is a warm feeling that will flood through you, that is the excitement that knowing you will be able to leave your troubles behind for the duration of your holiday combined with the knowledge that you are destined to have a good time.
Excitement is one of the biggest issues when it comes to trying to avoid overspending on your holiday and is one of the main causes for excess expenditure when the trip finally comes, such as overweight cases, the desire to have a sunscreen in a multiple of strengths and for many women the need to have “enough” clothes is a major factor.
Although holidays are meant to be a time of enjoyment and relaxation, there are instances where the holiday maker can run into situations that could add stress to the day, such as additional fees for over packed suitcases, delays to the airline schedule and one of the biggest being the loss or leaving of travel documents at home.
Obviously there are things that you can do in order to avoid a number of issues that you could experience while travelling, so here are a few much needed tips that you should take some time to think about before travelling:
Only pack the things that you know you will need
Airline companies install weight restrictions on air flights as the weight of the airline needs to be balanced with the amount of fuel that is added into it to enable the plane to reach its destination, so there are heavy fees that are placed onto passengers that exceed their baggage allowance, with reports of fees of up to £25 per 1KG that your bag is over the allowed amount.
Make sure that you are solely packing the items that you know that you will use, adding additional ‘maybe’ items will increase the weight of the luggage and mean that you are more likely to surpass your allowance.
Travel in the heaviest clothing you intend to take
Another luggage weight management suggestion is to plan what clothes you are looking to take with you well in advance so that you have the time to be able to establish what you will need to wear on the plane in order to reduce the overall weight of your luggage.
If you are travelling to less warm locations, maybe on a sky trip, you will more than likely be travelling with large, thick clothing and so there is less ability to be able to take all of the clothing that you would like to, so help to offset the weight by wearing the heaviest items.
Take something to entertain yourself both on the plane and in the airport
One of the biggest expenses that you will encounter even before you reach your holiday is the airport could be within the Duty Free shopping area, the food courts or the arcade machines, so you need to plan ahead and think about how you will pass the time that you will have on your hands once you have checked onto your flight.
Recommendations are things like personal music players, iPad 2 or other tablet computers and magazines that you have bought prior to travelling to the airport.
Passing the time with a free online game such as Happy Wheels or Angry Birds will not only be free but will help you forget about the time that you are waiting while keeping your mind off the possibility of thinking that you are hungry, therefore avoiding the massively inflated prices.
