New Tourism
A visit to England is rarely aimed at spending time on the beach, swimming in the ocean or developing a suntan. But that may be about to change, as the many summer resorts and luxury hotels in Dorset are involved in a campaign to make the British coast as desirable as the French Riviera.
Naturally, the sun will never be as bright as it is in the Mediterranean, the waters will never be as blue as they are in Hawaii and the weather will never be as warm as it is in Brazil. But there are several things that make the South Coast of Britain a very desirable holiday destination, and, honestly, it has had a lot of bad reputation these past decades.
Truth is, the English summer is warm. And speak to any British person, and they’ll tell you that Dorset is a very desirable holiday destination internally. The main appeal of Dorset is its variety. Any English town is very likely to be lively, have good food, good spirits (and also beer) and be an overall fun place to be at. Dorset has the advantage of combining beautiful beaches with a stunning countryside, something that very few tropical holiday destinations can claim.
